Buenos tardes

Buenos tardes hommies

Well I have made it here to the best place on earth. I am so grateful,
words can not describe. This chruch and the people in it are amazing.
So I will start at the beginning. I got here Tuesday afternoon my mission
president picked up me and the 29 other elders. We drove back to the nurses
house where I met my companion!!!!!!!!! All the elders did not get there
trainers untill thursday but she came early to stay with me because I am
the only girl...SOO we stayed with the mission nurses in like a 5 star
appartment right in the city of quito, for 2 night while I had trainning.
We got to know each other. I LOVE HERMANA CASTILLO we are exactly the same
its crazy! She is from north salt lake and is 22. She knows spanish super
well her dad was a mission president in Mexico City when she was in high
school. So once those couple days were over we headed to CONOCOTO!! We are
opening a new area with the Zone Leaders.Conocoto is just about an hour
south east of Quito. It is a smaller town not the city and tons of Native
Ecuadorian People otovaleƱos is the tribe. No sisters have been here in 14
years the people are thrilllllled to have us. We live on the main street
and the bus is infront of our house its sweet! I have been surviving the
food no issues!! We have "momitas" who is someone in the ward that feeds us
every afternoon for the big meal of the day. Our food is usually some crazy
soup you never ask what is in it. A mound of rice and some meat. My momita
hates fish so I lucked out!!! We have gone crazy our brand new appartment
has no curtains cause we are the 1st to live there so its like a fish bowl
so we hung some sheets its super getto. Also EVERY man I pass on the street
whistles at me yesterday someone even meowed haha... My self esteem is
doing great haha haha Well ecuador is everything I ever imagined it to be,
kinda like camping, such nice people, and strange food. Everyone is so
humble and loving to say the least. My spanish is horrible I can understand
alot but not speak as well but ohh well it will happen with time and
studying. We buy food off the street for cheap and eat super healthy, and
walk a good million miles every day.
As for missionary work, we have already taught a couple lessons and found
some people for baptism. Church on Sunday was awesome, the person saying
the prayer said he was thankful god sent the most beautiful people to
ecuador haha! Gosh I love it here, its pure joy AHH!!! Today we went into
the city to the mega maxi which is like a walmart and the mall, it felt
like I was in america! And we got cheeseburgers with the elders AHHHH it
was amazing haha
Heres some pics...
my 1st ecuadorian meal ...Where I live...My companion.
next week I am sure will have many more stories, thanks for all the emails
and prayers you all are the best, I love you each!

Para Siempre Dios este con vos
con amor
HERMANA MERRILL:)
