Worms!!

Hello familia and amigos.
Things here in Puyo really could not be better. It rained all week, so hard I washed my hair in the rain. We ate  chontauros today which are just HUGE worms that they eat here in the jungle. Most nasty thing I have ever eaten… enough said. We had divisions which was kind of fun, nice to see some other Hermana’s being so far away from other missionaries. I went with Hermana Castillo my trainer we laughed and taught all day, fun to see her and be able to teach with her again.
We had a specialized conference with the president on Saturday and the entire orient zone. He spoke mostly on the importance of finding. More than anything that called my attencion was that we really need to focus ourselves on our faith and on the end. The principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ are simple when we have the faith to do Gods will and focus on the end. Also we discussed the blessings, why do we need blessings? How? Nephi is a perfect example, he was so blessed, he brought his entire family in a boat to the Americas. He was only blessed for his diligence obedience and faithfulness to the lord. Something to always think about is do we want the blessings that Nephi received or the blessings Leman and Lemual received? Something I have learned here on the mission is the importance of the scriptures, not just reading them to read and complete, not just reading them to check it off a list, but to put the words of the prophets in practice. Maybe be a little grateful that we know how to read and have the blessing of being able to read the scriptures.
I really cannot express enough how much I love it here, that the mission has change my life, it has made me become closer to my Savior and know that every single person needs him to return to the presence of our father again.
I hope all goes well back home this week and my email made sense. I am having a hard time speaking in English these days.
LOVE YOU ALL
HERMANA MERRILL:)
